David Sinclair Architects (DSAA) is an architectural design studio based in Cascais, near Lisbon.
With 30 years of design experience of tourism, leisure and residential facilities, including extensive and often complex approvals from the municipalities in Portugal, the practice is ready to advise clients with their investments, however big or small.
We designed four pousadas (historic hotels), the Pestana CR7 Hotels (Funchal and Lisbon), and the extension to Pestana Vintage hotel in Porto which have all been completed. The pousada for Camara de Lobos in Madeira opened in June 2019 and we have also designed a series of hotels in West Africa which should open between 2021 and 2023.
Several of our older projects continue to win acclaim such as the Pousada do Porto (Palácio do Freixo) the “Residences” at Vilamoura, Vilamoura Hilton (with John Seifert) and the Monte Santo Resort in Carvoeiro.
A number of projects for Angola and Moçambique for which designs were completed in 2011/2 continue on hold. We continue to develop master planning projects in Portugal and abroad and we advise clients intending to invest in Portugal.
The site shows a range of our work - both old and new – but obviously our interest is in the future which we hope will bring new dynamics to our practice and our clients.
We aim to provide quality projects which meet the specific needs of our clients, building users and the public in general. We work with a considerable number of Portuguese professionals who provide all engineering and similar input into our projects.
