8 Houses in Serra da Arrabida

We recently obtained planning permission (2023) for this mini-condominium set in the Serra da Arrabida between Azeitão and Setúbal. The project involved steering the process through the municipality with a PIP Pedido de Informação Previa (outline planning permission) and then full licencing project.
Although the site does not overlook the sea, it enjoys great views of the mountains which in principle will never be compromised by new development as this area is highly protected by the planning authorities.
We looked at the possible image for the project and decided that the open terrace below big roofs would be the preferred solution, despite the neighbouring modern white buildings. All but one of the bedrooms enjoy these views, and there are small private pools for each house making it a great atmosphere to bring one’s family. There is a communal space in the middle which can be used as a pool or picnic/play space.
